Well, just catching my breath after the whirlwind day on Saturday of Silent Auction and Concert, all for the Big Cats! More than $3,400 was raised in just the silent auction items and I’m very grateful for all of the donations from the Westport Merchants! You were all so very generous with your donations and we could not have had such success if it weren’t for you. So, again, I say thank you!

For everyone who came to the concert, thank you. We all played our part in making a difference for these beautiful animals. I hope that you enjoyed the concert and if you’d like to know when I am performing at other public venues, please feel free to e-mail me and I will add your e-mail to my database for e-mail blasts

Grazie, mercie, danka sane, thank you!

… more media coverage! This time it is from my hometown newspaper, the Trumbull Times.

Not only is the story 99% correct (I did not actually write the music that the Staples High students are singing, I just helped teach it to them!) but they used one of my favorite color photos in both the print and online versions of the story. :)

I’m delighted that we’ve gotten some great write-ups in local newspapers the past few days.  More are on the way! Here are two links…

Norwalk Hour: “Soprano raises her voice to save big cats in Westport”
Oct 18, 2009 … Soprano Jodi Keogan was introduced to the big cats of the Southern Florida Wildlife Rehabilitation Center seven and a half years ago, while she was visiting some friends in Florida…

Fairfield Citizen News: “The cats have it on Make a Difference Day”
Oct 16, 2009 … Fairfield’s C.A.T.S. Inc. and the Southern Florida Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will benefit from The Big Cat Concert, performed by Jodi Keogan and friends, at Westport’s Make a Difference Day…

My only complaint is that the splendid photos shown in the physical newpapers were not included when they posted the stories online.

Well, we’re just about through with picking up all of the donations for the silent auction. Over 50 items have been generously given in support of the two benefiting feline rescue organizations. Now comes the real work… getting tickets sold!

To the first 250 audience members, there will be a special “delectable delight” handed to you as you enter the auditorium. We have 296 seats to fill and I’m hoping that you’ll help to get the word out and spread the news that this concert is the biggest event during Westport’s Make a Difference Day.

Come and be a part of it!

You can call 203-257-5450 directly for tickets or you can order online at this site through PayPal. Please, help me to Make a Difference!

Well, I have a bit of wonderful news. Clayton Singer, a freshman at Staples High School has assembled a group of students that were looking to do something good for a charity. He offered to put together a group of singers to sing in our concert. He indeed is a champion of good causes! The selection that they will sing is a surprise! This song will be directed by Michael Lantowski in studio.

I just received word this morning that the Staples High School Freshman Ensemble, directed by Alice Lipson will also be joining us for a performance of a special song as well. Hurray for Westport students!

Well, if you haven’t heard an update in awhile, it’s because I’ve been out in Westport’s Great White Way drumming up advertising, sponsorships and donations for our silent auction. Thus far, we have over 50, yes, 50 unique donation items for our fundraising event. You can actually see all of the items listed if you click on “Silent Auction – Item List” above.

We are currently bringing posters all around town and posting them in merchants stores to help bring awareness to the concert and auction.

We have one great sponsor – Newman’s Own in Westport. They are truly wonderful and are actually one of the sponsors of Westport’s Make a Difference Day. Newman’s Own Organics out of California is donating some tasty treats to the first 250 people to enter the theater.
